- Where Have I Been?
Hey everyone,
I know some of you have been wondering where I’ve been these past couple of months. If you’ve been paying close attention, you might have even noticed that I temporarily removed the course offer from our website and adjusted some of the course content.
I can’t get into all the details, but let’s just say it’s been a rough few weeks.
Monica and I spent three weeks in the Philippines, where I completely unplugged—no work, no emails, just quality time with Monica, our kids, and her family. The only exception was one meeting with my co-founder and development team as we continue building the app I’ve envisioned for years.
Coming back to the States, though, I felt a huge drop in motivation. I wasn’t excited to post videos, update social media, or even send out emails. With the slowdown, business revenue took a hit, and I had to let go of our video editor—which means I’m back to editing my own videos, adding even more to my plate.
A lot of people think YouTube is just hitting record, uploading, and making easy money. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Each video requires research, scripting, gathering data, coming up with a title that actually gets clicks, setting up, filming (with multiple takes), editing, adding music, overlays, sound effects, graphics—the list goes on. And after all that, there’s marketing, publishing, responding to comments, and making sure the content actually reaches the right people. This is why most YouTubers burn out after 5 to 7 years.
So now, I’m figuring out how to keep the YouTube channel going in a way that doesn’t drain me. At the same time, I’m 100% focused on building an app that will change the way nurses view and manage their finances and careers, so that remains my top priority.
