She gave up on nursing after being attacked by a patient

And made $30,000 in 10 days after doing this one thing

Did you know that more than 5,200 nurses were assaulted in the second quarter of 2022? On average, two nurses were assaulted every hour, translating to about 57 assaults per day. The majority of aggressors were patients.

Nurse Lois Twum is one of those nurses who became a statistic. She was raised in the South by her mother, who is still a nurse to this day. Her dream was to work as a nurse in the ICU, but life may not have turned out exactly as she expected. Her first experience as an ICU nurse was when she was offered a paid flight, hotel stay, and sign-on bonus to work for a facility in St. Louis.

After being given the red carpet treatment, she imagined a place where nurses would work and retire with a great pension and retirement benefits.

Unfortunately, that experience only lasted one year before she cut her 2-year contract short and took on one travel assignment after another. She even traveled with her mother to NYC at the peak of COVID.

But her life completely changed after being attacked and hospitalized by a patient under her care in a neuro ICU. Her employer showed very little to no sympathy, asking her if she was ready to return to work just two weeks after being attacked.

This ultimately led her on a path to pursue alternative forms of income. She accidentally fell into a strike nurse travel assignment that earned her $30,000 in 10 days. This opened her eyes to the vast array of opportunities nurses have but don’t take advantage of.
