Nurses, You’re Gonna Want This App
Sneak peek inside Map My Pay's features, launch date, and how it helps you compare cities the smart way.

Hey friend 👋
We’ve been quietly building the future of salary transparency for nurses—and we’re finally ready to give you a sneak peek.
If you’ve been wondering when the app drops, how it works, or what’s actually inside… this is your inside look at everything we’ve built and everything that’s coming 👀
Let’s get into it.
What’s Already Live in Map My Pay?
We’ve been testing a private beta version of the app with a small group of nurses—and here’s what’s already working inside:
✅ City-by-city salary breakdowns for Registered Nurses (with tax + housing data baked in)
✅ Leftover income calculator after taxes and either rent or mortgage
✅ Upload your paystub or union contract to improve data accuracy
✅ Community page where nurses can share stories and ask questions
✅ Home screen that shows your estimated savings in that city
✅ Investment calculator that changes projections based on selected city
✅ Search our database and filter results by role, state, salary, etc…
All this is already built and being cleaned up before launch. But we’re not stopping there.
Coming Soon: Smarter Features Nurses Will Love
Here’s what we’re hoping to add before we hit the App Store in May:
Savings Meter
Shows if you're Thriving, Doing Okay, Tight, or In the Red based on your leftover income.
Affordability Badges
Tells you whether rent or mortgage is manageable or a money pit, based on your actual salary.
Salary Breakdown Pie Chart
See exactly where your money goes—taxes, housing, and what’s left for you.
Crime Safety Score
Because no nurse wants to move to a city they don’t feel safe in. We’ll show if it’s low, moderate, or high risk.
Lifestyle Match Calculator
Helps you figure out how much you’d need to earn in a new city to live like you do now.
Live Here, Work There Mode
Compare salary in one city and housing in another. (Example: Work in San Francisco, live in Vallejo and keep more of your paycheck.)
Rent vs. Own Toggle
See your leftover income change depending on if you’re renting or buying.
Subscription Tiers: Free, Plus, and Pro
Free Plan: RN-only data + 10 cities
Plus Plan: Editable salaries, all nursing roles, 10+ cities
Pro Plan: Compare nursing to 48+ healthcare careers, get hospital-level pay estimates (in a future update), and see advanced financial tools like investments and alerts.
📅 When Is the App Launching?
We are aiming to publish Map My Pay on the App Store and Google Play by May 30th, so it’s ready to demo when I meet 50+ nurses at our NYC Meetup on June 6th.
But here’s the truth:
We’re not rushing just to release a buggy app. We’d rather wait an extra week to get it right—because once it’s in your hands, it needs to feel smooth, intuitive, and powerful.
Got Questions?
Hit reply. Seriously. We’re building this for you—and we want to make sure it solves real problems you’re facing. Whether you're confused about how it works or just excited to try it, let us know. We may not respond to every e-mail, but we’ll definitely read them.
Do you want to be notified when our app launches? If you agree, you will subscribe to our Map My Pay newsletter. |
In followup emails, we’ll share early demo screenshots, feature previews, and maybe even a few invite-only beta test spots 👀
Until then, stay safe—and remember:
Nurses aren’t underpaid. They’re just not given the full picture.
We’re here to change that.
