From $93/Month to Launching a Nurse Salary App 📱
Our First 2 Weeks Are In—and It’s Looking Real Good

Hi nurse,
Back in 2021, I launched our YouTube channel with zero expectations.
No team. No roadmap. No fancy tech.
Just me, Monica, and a spreadsheet I made to help nurses compare salaries.
We didn’t earn a single dollar for the first six months.
By the end of that first year, we averaged just $93/month.
But we kept going.
We showed you how much California nurses actually make.
We rolled back the curtain on cost of living and take-home pay.
And little by little, the momentum built.
How It Started vs. How It’s Going
Here’s what’s wild to me:
In 2024, most of our revenue came from our online course
We reinvested almost 80% of that income to build something bigger
And just 2 weeks ago, we officially launched our Map My Pay app on the Apple App Store
It’s already outperforming our early expectations.
Let me break this down.
Year | Monthly Income (Avg) | Major Milestone |
---|---|---|
2021 | $93/month | YouTube monetized + first spreadsheet sold |
2022 | $1,200/month | Launched more tools and salary data |
2023 | $6,000/month | Released full course + grew our Skool community |
2024 | $20,000+/month | Used earnings to build the app |
2025 | App launched 🎉 | Already earning within first 2 weeks |
It’s Not Just Me Anymore
This time around, I’m not doing it alone.
My cofounder Sumeet is a nurse just like us. She saw the vision, believed in it, and put in $28,000 of her own income to help build this app.
Between both of us, we’ve spent about $40,000 since October 2024 to bring Map My Pay to life.
And we’re just getting started.
Next Up: Web Access
Right now, the app is iPhone only. But we’re fixing that.
The web version is officially in the works—and the dev told us it’ll only cost $2,500 to complete. Why so low?…
Because we already built the hard part.
We’ve got all the backend data, APIs, and infrastructure. Think of it like already owning the engine and wiring—we’re just adding a second steering wheel so more people can drive it.
We expect the web version to be done in 6 weeks or less.
What This Means for You
If you’ve been following our journey from day one—or even if you just found us last week—this win is for you too.
It proves you don’t need venture capital or some Silicon Valley team to solve real problems. You just need:
A clear mission
Transparent info nurses actually need
And a whole lot of determination
I don’t know where this goes next. But from what I’ve seen in just these first 2 weeks…
It looks like we’re on the right track.
Thanks for being here with us.
